Our culture is our foundation—fueled by innovation, a commitment to transformation, and a team of authentic, driven individuals worldwide. At BostonGene, you'll find a community that's not just about the work but about making a difference, together. Join us to be a part of a future where your work contributes to transformative cancer treatments and shapes the lives of patients globally.

Job Description:
We are looking for a Bioinformatics Data Analyst to join our team. You will drive the analysis in our research collaborations with global pharma companies and labs. Your main goal is to dig into sequencing data and turn it into clear biological insights - helping to understand things like why certain patients respond to therapy or how a drug affects the molecular profile of a tumor.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design the plan: Decide which tools and methods are best to answer a client’s specific research question
  • Work with diverse data: Analyze RNA-seq, WES, and other omics from clinical trials, archival samples, or public datasets
  • Connect the dots: Explain your findings through the lens of molecular biology and oncology
  • Tell the story: Create clear reports and charts that effectively deliver complex findings to stakeholders, focusing on the "so what?" of the results
Required Qualifications
  • Biology: You have a deep understanding of molecular biology and oncology
  • Bioinformatics Expertise:
    • QC: Checking data quality (FastQC, RSeQC)
    • Processing: Running alignments and quantification (BWA-mem, Kallisto)
    • Transcriptomics: Differential expression and pathway analysis (DESeq2, GSEA)
    • Genomics: Calling mutations and copy number changes (Strelka, Sequenza)
  • Technical stack:
    • Data Analysis: You are comfortable using Python for data analysis (Pandas)
    • Machine Learning: You have a solid grasp of classical ML and understand how basic ML algorithms work: Regressions, Decision Trees, Clustering (Scikit-learn)
    • Statistics: You have a strong foundation in math stats and a clear understanding of which tests to use and why (Scipy)
    • Infrastructure: You are are comfortable using the command line for automation and data manipulation (Linux / Bash)
  • Education: Master’s or Specialist degree in Bioinformatics, Biology, or a related field
  • Languages: English at B2 level or higher
Soft Skills
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: You focus on solving the actual research problem to ensure your insights provide real value to the client
  • Scientifically Curious: You don’t just run code; you want to build a logical "story" from the results
  • Bridge-Builder: You can explain biological needs to ML engineers or developers and translate complex computational results for clinicians or managers
Experience
  • 1+ years of experience in industry or a strong track record in applied academic research
Why Join Our Team?
  • Real Impact: Your work won’t just sit in a folder; it will help pharma companies develop better treatments and directly influence clinical decisions
  • Complex & Varied Tasks: You’ll get to work on everything from figuring out why a single patient didn't respond to therapy to doing massive meta-analyses of global cohorts
  • Expert Team: You’ll work alongside sharp bioinformaticians, MDs, and engineers who are always ready to brainstorm and share knowledge
What We Offer (Benefits)
  • Stability & Flexibility: Full-time permanent contract with flexible hours and hybrid/remote options within Armenia
  • Competitive Package: Competitive salary and comprehensive healthcare insurance
  • Convenient Workspace: Modern office in Yerevan (1-minute walk from the metro) with on-site snacks
  • Relocation Support: Full package for you and your family, including all documentation and bureaucracy support
  • Extra Perks: English language lessons and gym membership
